SHARE-A-SQUARE PROJECT

This project was done last summer. The square's were donated to a project that was taken place in TEXAS. The project was to make 140 Blankets made of granny squares. The blankets were then given to children with Cancer. I made 8 squares, and a co-worker made 3. Also another co-workers Mom made about 12. So together we touched the hearts of 23 Children. Such a great project to be apart of.

"Here’s my idea. I’ve found a granny afghan pattern that is very simple. It requires 24 small squares and 6 large squares, but it could work with just 48 small squares. If I can get people to send me the crocheted squares, then I’ll ask folks in my community to put them together; I’m not shy. With every square you send, attach a signed “best wishes” card (you can give an e-mail address to the child if you want). Each afghan will be put together with squares and good wishes from at least thirty different people."

GENIE

Disney charicters are one of my favorite's to draw. My dream was to work for Disney. I have many old pictures lying around from my childhood of Disney charicters, from Lion King, to The Jungle Book, to Snow white & The 7 Dwarfs, and many, many more. This was a challenge for me. I always had a hard time drawing the Genie. This one I had to draw two. I love the way the shading came out. Under the rib cage was a challange but i think I accomplished it pretty good.

DRAGON

This was done in my senior year in High School. The assignment was "Tatto Design". We had to pair up with a partner, and pretend like we were getting a tattoo done by the other person. My partner for the assignment wanted a tattoo of a Dragon. He found a picture that he liked and I recreated it. I wish I still had the original picture this was drawn from, to show how much differant it is. I had a few people tell me they wated to get this as a tatto.

SHENA

This is a picture of my sisters ca Shena. She would be the first Siameese cat my family has ever owned. Since her i dont think i would buy any other cat, unless it was given to me. They are very loyal cats. I made this picture for my sister Shannon, for her 21st birthday. Shena was given to her for Christmas the year before. Now this picture hangs on her living room wall.

BALLERINA SLIPPER

I don't have much to say about this image. It was the first, that I used pen and ink. Also the first time I used cross hatching through out the entire object. I think it turned out great. The only thing would add, would be a couple of floor boards, under it, to add a 3D feel to it. That will be one of my tasks to do.

Precious Moments

This is one of my favorite Precious Moments pictures. One of the many that I have. This image was created all in ink. I am very proud of this piece. This would be the first piece I have ever done in ink, in 2001. My next attempt with this image is to make a stained glass panel.

"Homeless"

This image was for my drawing one class. The object of the assingment was to pick one of the images that the Professor picked out from a National Geographics Magazine. The media we had to use was charcoal. There were a lot of images that she picked out, but when I looked through all of the images on the table this one was the one that caught my eye. I saw that sadness in the face of this girl, that none of the other images had, and it grasped my attention. It didnt take me long to finish the picture, but it turned out just as I wanted it to. The other students in the class were impressed. Alot of the students were taken by the eye's. they say that people are the hardest things to draw, I dont think that i have a huge problem with it. dont get me wrong , some people are hard to draw. They may turn out good, but they dont always look like the person you are intending to draw.

Princess Grace Kelly

This is A portrate of Princess Grace Kelly, a project I did for school. The assignment this was for, was to create a stamp of something or someone well known. This was the final project of the semester. The professor I had was a stickler. Nothing anyone did, did he not pick apart. So, I kept searching for the right picture to use. I also wanted to challenge myself , by going with a well known person. I also wanted to use someone that made an impact in other peoples lives. I couldnt find any pictures that looked like stamp material. Then I finally found this image. It was perfect. I wanted to add to the image, like putting a film strip behind her, or putting a crown in the top corner. The more I thought about adding to it, the more I thought that it would take away from the picture. When I brought it to class and presented it to the teacher, he was stunned, the work I did prior in class didnt match up to the work I did here. He tried to pick it apart but couldnt. This made me feel good. Finally I was able to show him the talent that I really had inside me.
